Ice Is The Problem

Ice and snow
not much snow
but ice is covering everything.
no where near what is in other areas
but enough that this one will not be able to drive down her icy drive,
go down the steps to the terrace to where truck is parked with windows covered with ice
and probably door cannot be opened.
Hopefully by Thursday I can venture to town.

Not like this in the city
where roads are prepared
but on this country road
it is different.
Almost 40 years ago came to
this plot of land and well aware it takes ice a long time to melt with ongoing cold temperature.
Hoping no power failure.

White bean chili is simmering
and just took a French Coconut pie out of the oven.
All is well, pantry well stocked
and in a way seems kind of nice not to have to go anywhere,
that is
if family keep checking on me :)

Cancelled appointment for scan early in the morning.

Up on the loft surveying the now empty bird feeders
and I notice
as always
2 pictures that belong to my son.
Wish I could transport myself
inside these pictures....

To visit either picture
would be a joy.

Middle daughter fell
and may have injured her knee.
Beth
hope nothing serious...

Take care and stay safe inside. Sure hope your power doesn't go out!
Nice to imagine being in those places in the paintings.

Be careful. Don't go outside until all the ice has melted.

This weather is annoying and nasty. I know you will be careful and stay safe and I am glad that you have family checking on you. Some elderly do not!

Worst day and night
Wednesday
below zero and hope nothing freezes
went to garage to get blower
to blow snow off of screen porch
opened garage door to just look
could not pull out if I wanted
too - 3 feet banked against door
and snow drifts in part of
long drive.
thanks to all all of you
for your caring words...

Dear Ernestine ~ Stay safe and snug in your sweet home. I really wouldn't be able to handle northern winters. Have lived way too long down here in tropical weather.

Those paintings are really lovely.

Lorraine, the paintings
represent Peace to me.
One by the ocean
and another by the woods
and water :)

I suppose the system that brought sleet and some snow to us, west of you, will be arriving there soon. Do stay inside! I had to go out this morning to feed my cats; watched every step I took :) and didn't climb over the gate today to feed them.

I don't imagine that your region has the infrastructure to deal comfortably with this weather, but you sound well set in your place.

It's rather nice to say snug and warm inside when it's dangerously icy outside, especially as your pantry is well-stocked and the telephone and heating working. Stay safe!
