From The Cold Damp Woods

Another restless and old bones aching night
days are better
because I keep moving.
One daughter commented
take a pain pill
and my answer
"no way as long as I can stand it
cannot be heavily medicated."

The young woman who brings eggs to my home each week
and her husband are so special to me.
Will Ed, has open heart surgery tomorrow at noon.
Risky, has been shared and they stay on my mind
constantly, one reason for not sleeping for several nights
and this one praying continually that he will be
allowed more time with his wife and family....

Cold weather continues with wind fiercely blowing
but the sun is brightly shining
and I follow it to the upstairs loft
where it is streaming in the windows.
Makes me think SPRING...

Amazon is so easy for me to order from.
Several items on my list
Manuka Honey - which is suppose to heal everything from indigestion to a open wound :)
Dried sugar free Cranberries
and shelled Pumpkin seeds.

Local market does not have these items and
have not been up to driving to the big city
It is so nice to order online and in a few days
items are at my door.
With ingredients still on hand for my granddaughter's Kale salad
I made it again for lunch with an addition of crispy bacon on top,
Sunflowers seeds and sliced hard boiled egg.

Making my list of food to prepare when my son visits.
This salad is on the list...

Talk to your doctor about taking a small aspirin when the aches keep you awake. It is better for your health to sleep well. Yes, Amazon is a dangerous addiction, but for those of us not wanting to drive about it is wonderful. They are thinking about delivering via drone!

Yes I have to be careful
about my ordering items that
is so simple.
No aspirin-does not help.
This has been bad on and off
for about 8 years. Seems each flareup is worse and frightens me.
Prednisone helps but trying to wean myself off of this medication.

Aching bones and a mind worrying will keep you awake. I sympathize and (sometimes) feel your pain. Manuka honey is always on stand-by at my house - good for a lemon/honey tea when you feel a cold coming or know you've been exposed. I sometimes take Melatonin (1Mg) if I am having trouble sleeping. I take the sublingual. It is not habit forming.

There are two products: Advil PM and Aleve PM.--Advil is Ibuoprofen and Aleve is an anti-inflammatory. Take one or the other (I use Advil) when you go to bed--it helps with the aches and pains and allows me to wake in the morning, feeling very good. You rest, relax and sleep a lot better when the pain lessens. Ask your doc the next time you see him. I take no pain pills during the day--just one at night if/when I am hurting.

Manuka honey is great to have on hand. I just wish it weren't so expensive. I agree that it's a practical possibility to order things online which cannot be purchased locally.
Sorry to hear about your aches and I hope the flare-up will soon calm down. I have a great massage balm with essential oils: Gaultheria procubens and Pinus pinaster. It's really helpful after a warm bath.

Are you not in favor of taking drugs like Celebrex to help with the problems? I have no compunction whatsoever.

Barb, Judy, Sandra and AV, for many years a lot of over the counter medications tried.
Did not work. So trying to accept, good diet, exercise, meditation and prednisone on and off.

Ernestine, break you pain pill in half. Take it if you cannot sleep.... It is better to sleep. If you are too sleepy next morning, then take a fourth of a pill. You don't want to hurt.....and you need to rest... Love to you....

I have heard about all the wonderful things that Manuka honey can do. I am not sure if it helped, but one time a woman giving me a facial (something I have done maybe 3 or 4 times in my life) applied some on my face!

your salad, no doubt, is delicious.
