Can You Imagine

Parsley from frigid garden that will top potato soup that is simmering

Two ancient plants that are on the loft
they like their Winter home.
I love this area
almost feel like I am on a vacation when I sit upstair and look out the big window.

Paper Whites soon to bloom and a bulb that may take time

A quick trip to market early this morning to join the many people preparing
for the zero days predicted.
All is well and potato soup mixture smells so good with onions, celery, carrots
and bacon cooking for topping.

These are the pros of not traveling. You can nurture things through the winter! I am going to be gone to Florida for two weeks in a short time and my amayllus are already budding!!!

I don't quite know how I found you but when I read your profile I thought- there is a woman much like me...this is the best time of my life, too-loving on my grandkids and being retired from the business world.

God bless you- I am your newest follower and already put you on my sidebar so I don't miss posts. xo Diana

Your home looks like summer--inside! I could not resist the temptation and bought an Amaryllis yesterday at the Wal-Mart. I am in need of a living, blooming, colorful things in this deep freeze winter.

Your home always looks so bright and sunny; no wonder the plants look so healthy and happy. Frigid temps coming; just hoping they don't stay too long. I continue to enjoy your blog and look forward to many visits here in 2014. Mary

Judy and Mary, thank you for your words
and yes I have to have light
and plants growing inside during the long winter months.
It is sure helpful and makes me think of Spring...

I pull up my virtual chair to your virtual table and sniff the heavenly scent in the air and partake.

beautiful sparks of color and warmth for the coming frigid air. Stay cozy and comfortable in your cottage in the woods.

It all makes such a cosy impression.
Even winter has many pleasures (provided it doesn’t rain for weeks, as it’s doing here)
