For it isn't your mother, your father, your husband, or children's whose judgement you must pass.
The person's whose verdict counts most in your life is the one staring back from the glass.
She's the person to please, never mind all the rest, for she's with you clear up to the end, and you've passed your most dangerous and difficult test, if the woman in glass is your friend.
You may fool the whole world down the pathway of life, and get pats on your back as you pass.
But your final reward will be heartache and tears - if you've cheated the woman in the glass.

I found this poem last night. It spoke volumes to this One Woman and I want to share.

"To thine own self be true, then thou can't be false to any man." (I am paraphrasing)
Your poem and those words of wisdom are excellent mottoes to live by.
This certainly explains life. I don't know yet if I am the one in the glass or not. Sometimes I wonder who I really am--I am uncompleted, still searching for the true me. At least I got over thinking I was the stupid girl my Dad told me I was--at least that feeling is gone. It takes a long time for us to quit beliving the things people of our youth called us. Maybe I am getting there.
Judy, none of us are completed.
I sometimes wonder who I am. We are all much alike. Some people just do not share like "you and I".
Have a good weekend. Continue to heal. You are healing a little each day. Sending you a smile and a hug - way up there in Michigan :)
Darlene, you are so right. The poem surely spoke to me. You have a good weekend. You were one of the first to encourage me when I started writing 2 1/2 years ago.
I will never forget.
This poem touches my heart and is hard to read at the same time. Some days I don't recognize that reflection in the glass...and some days I know exactly who she is. Like Judy I am still searching for the true me. Thanks for sharing these words.
Sharon, just when I think I know who this woman is - I begin to think maybe I do not. Maybe it is a life journey. Do we really ever know who we are. I have lived so many lifestyles - but I know I like this one the best :) Thank you for visiting me.
