Before And After

When a corn field was planted in front of her cottage - wondered would she like it?

The corn grew to the height of 10 and 12 feet in some areas. Miss Callie enjoyed running through the rows. One Woman loved the privacy of being surrounded by woods and a corn field.

The field was cut late yesterday. She can see for miles and will be happy when the field is planted once again. Hopefully winter wheat which will look like lawn or she will have to wait until next Spring for a new crop to be planted.

One of the changes of the approaching season.

Actually a corn field can be a nice reminder of the changing seasons. I am sure you felt such a cozy privacy this summer.

I would have swiped some ears of corn if I were there. The price of corn since the Ethanol craze has left me without one of the treats of summer.

One ear of corn is still 50 cents and I refuse to pay it.

Darlene, this was field corn. A friend gave me 3 dozen ears earlier in the summer and I put in my freezer. One ear at a time is good.

You had privacy during the summer and now you will be able to see the changing colors of autumn. That's the best of both worlds.

Hi there !
Is it what we call maize ? Round here some of the farmers who have had to diversify to make a living have made maize mazes and the children love them !

Sharon, Barbara, Judy, Sky, your welcome comments are being read this early morning. Yes, Fall is on the way. Yes, some farmers put corn mazes in their fields.
My little ones liked just running through the corn rows.

Now that's a real change. I wonder what Callie thinks? I love watching the farm fields change. We drive and watch them planting in the spring and then harvesting in the fall. Will you pick up corn for the squirrels and birds?

Balisha, it is a rainy morning here in the woods. I wanted so to run errands as it has been over a week. The deer are coming to the corn field in the evening when Callie is inside with me. Probably will not pick up bits of corn in the field. I think the combine picked it pretty clean. Have a good weekend.

I always thought there was something magical about corn fields. I walked through a cornfield maze one time and it was being like a different world.

You have created such a beautiful place for yourself in the world. And you are sensitive enough to see everything as a gift...even a field of corn.

I like the image you create of the corn as a hidden place to run through. Lovely thought.
