Surrounded by papers (local and New York Times) scissors handy to clip articles and I spend a lot of the day
reading of new books, movies, special words and on this day an article on a simple cottage in the Adirondacks, N.Y. was interesting and reminded me of the simplicity in my life at this time.
Really always my favorite spot for reading, computer and watching morning weather prediction.
Lunch, corn beef, Swiss cheese sandwich on rye bread and pairing of Bokchoy with
onion, red peppers simmered with a dash of olive oil.
Corn beef and Swiss purchased recently as memories surfaced of many trips taking my mother
to the doctor. She always called it her day. We always stopped at a wonderful Jewish Deli in Nashville where they served
this sandwich, Matzo ball chicken soup (which I have never been able to duplicate) and many other wonderful dishes and had a case filled with homemade bread
and deserts. We always took quite a selection home.
This deli is long gone and I still miss it. Small family owned and operated.
A good day is ending.....

Have a great week ~ FlowerLady
I love corned beef sammich! It looks like you had a lovely day.
Some good ideas for a Sunday. As always, thank you for sharing. Wishing you peace and joy on this Monday.
You do live the good life.
Lorraine, Judy, Pienosole and Tabor, thank you - I look at this image at the moment
and sure is not organized
but love all my favorite books
with little pieces of paper sticking out of them marking favorite words :)
I laboriously copy favourite words/sentences out of books into a notebook.
I would enjoy that quiet time in your house....

You made me hungry for a delicious corned beef sandwich. It was fun to see your cozy reading space. It looks a lot like mine. I also have page marks in many of my books. There are certain books that I enjoy referring to time after time. Those are the ones I keep in my chair side "stack".
WWW, I do the same thing, much alike, except I now can no longer do much you do :)
Susie, thank you..

Susie, thank you..
Looks like a great spot, and that desk is wonderful.
I love this story and reminiscing about a special place with your mother, enjoying a meal and your cozy space… it makes me laugh a little though because traditionally speaking if you were Jewish you would never put cheese on a cornedbeef sandwich… Meat and dairy together is not kosher. I am happy that you are appreciating the simplicity of your life… I too most love the simple things dear one.. but complications arise… and then thank heavens, they pass. xoxo
