Finally and Company

Yes finally able to pick a small serving of my turnip greens,
served with sliced hard boiled egg and crisp bacon crumbled on top.
Corn bread coming out of oven.
So Good...

Now
I would not buy at the market
as they are the size of your hand or bigger.
Like to pick when they are not much  bigger
then a silver dollar and I can pick enough for one.
  Did buy some very small
turnips as mine will not be ready for weeks.

Over the weekend
my daughter, soninlaw and grandson
made a visit and so good to see them.
Standing in a small area in the woods
that I am clearing and calling it
my son's park...
Was just not up to driving to the big city
and attending my soninlaws parents 60th anniversary.
Pictures sent to me of my youngest daughter, young granddaughter's and grandson's
attendance there.

I have so many blessings
and did something yesterday that kept me awake all night.
Unloading groceries in an area I usually do not use
and looked up and there was stood an unfamiliar young man and Callie had not even barked.
He needed work
and I told him to return this morning.
He did, I worked with him
and am ashamed of myself for being judgemental.
My middle daughter knew I was using this person
and could not reach me by phone as I did not realize it was off.
So she sent the sheriff
who quickly scolded me for using someone I did not know to help me.
The world is not like it used to be
and usually am very careful.
Glad he pulled up as the young man was leaving
and who knows the impact it may have had on him.
I surely paid for my mistake with a sleepless night.

We did accomplish a lot this morning
and so good to have some of my usual energy restored
and it might be in part to the cooler weather.
I worked with him and was very tired when he left.

May I in the future
use the wisdom
I know I possess....

I hope you and your family have his name. You can always do a Google check. I learned my elderly aunt had hired a person with an arrest record in 2 states by doing that. They guy may come back since he found work there earlier and may need more cash. Does he have references in the area? If so, perhaps he is someone you can trust, but it makes me very nervous to have people I know nothing about working here. We do not do it unless my husband is home and is supervising them and even then he has checked out references. I do not allow a cable repairman in our home unless hubby is home. We cannot be too careful today...it is indeed a different world.

-sigh- No, the world is not like it used to be. And a woman alone, needs to be especially careful.

-sigh- And even if my better judgement wants me to tsk-tsk at you... I also want to hug you.

Gentle hugs,
Tessa~

Oh--I would have done the same thing. We remember back when that sort of thing was quite normal. I guess we need to be more careful. People will tell you that you could be laying dead with all your money stolen, but.........Callie didn't even bark--perhaps she sensed the young man was all right?

Sky, Tess and Judy....
All is well and one who comes by for my Sunday N.Y. Times in the early morning shared knows a little about this young man.
Think he is alright but probably a troubled life he has chosen.
Callie barks at most except family and strange she did not.
But a new day, beautiful, time outside, some washing, tuna salad made for lunch, some tea and homemade baked goods and just continual thankfulness for another good day. This evening may make some stirfry with shrimp that is in the freezer..

please be careful.... to have come all the way down your drive makes me think he knew you paid people to help you, but, next time just say, no thanks! Say you already have someone who does it....even say your husband will do it tomorrow...He doesn't have to know...
