Happy Birthday

Happy birthday
to my first born
this early morning.

I can remember the morning she was born.
My mother was in the car with this one and her husband
as they made a fast drive to the hospital
in the city I never liked - Detroit, Michigan (forgive me)
Did not gain much weight
a little over 20 lbs, not very big and the doctor kept commenting
I would have a very small baby.
She arrived at 8lbs and could not believe her size,
looked like a big doll with a lot of dark hair.

This daughter gave me my first granddaughter
and she was recently married.

Life continues in the country
with daily rain that I think will soon stop.
So much outside work to be done,
everything is growing at a rapid pace
and since this is a farming community
it seems all help disappears during the busy summer month's.

All is well
and Life is Good
just everyone is so busy at this time....

Spring moving turns into early summer rushing including the water in the streams and off the leaves. Our birds this morning are really acting crazy in the woods as distant thunder passes overhead.

I think you have had more rain that we have. I can only imagine what your woods looks like. Our little woods is so overgrown this year. I'm having to stop maintaining so much of it.
We just have to remember not to overdo. I pay for it later...and I'm sure that you are the same.
I only gained 20 lbs too, with my last baby. He was only 6 lbs. What a beautiful family you have. Loved seeing the wedding pictures.
Have a nice day today....B

Seriously? You gained a little over 20 pounds and your baby was 8 pounds? Incredible! I gained almost 50 and my baby was a little over 5 pounds. Sigh. Your baby grew up beautifully.

Isn't it wonderful that, after all these years, we still remember the time they were born. An 8 pound baby is quite big for one so small as you. My smallest weighed 8# 6oz--because she was late and had started losing weight.
8# 15oz
8# 14oz
8# 6oz
9# 8oz
I always gained 50#

I understand about so much to do outside...same here. We, too, have been blessed with daily rains. It has not always been so. Spring is quickly slipping away...

You, your daughters, your granddaughters - strong, beautiful women all. And you have this wonderful journal of events as they grow.

Sharon, thank you for your kind words. I never thought of myself as being strong - just guess
with my childhood and being on my own now for almost 40 years -
it was survival
Anvilcloud, thank you for visiting
rain again at the moment and past weeks and more to come :)
