After The Rain

Rain
fell for almost two days.
It has just stopped,
soon it will be dark.
Put on my old shoes,
walked outside
and can hardly believe
what has happened.
Everything looks so fresh
and clean.
Spring
have you finally
arrived?
I sure hope so....

Yes, a good rain gives things a great boost. We finally had some warm days and the redbuds are blooming, much too late, and the trees on the mountains are putting out their buds. Now we're expecting lows in the 30s tonight! Weird!!

I love having old shoes so I can walk in the wet garden/yard and not worry even one second about how dirty my shoes might be.

well, with all the rain we have had, we should be "boosted" right into next spring! hahaa oh my, is it ever going to dry out and warm up? we get tiny breaks here and there, but so much is left to do in the gardens, and it is simply too cold to do it while being soaked with rain. 39 degrees here at 7:15 am, and we'll probably see about 55 for a high...along with RAIN!

loved the pics of your place - it is looking quite cheerful. have a good weeekend.

A good rain sweeps clean. Glad the violent storms missed you!

We won't have May Apples showing up until next month. I sure am anxious to see if my little woodland garden appears with it's wild flowers, jack in the pulpit, violets, may apples, adder's tongues, etc.--all dug up from the woods I used to play in as a child and transported here to my old age home.

Thanks for the lovely photos of Spring....we have yet to see it and the cold wind and rain today is pretty nasty. Our winter was intense and I never minded it, but I do mind today! Cannot get warm.

Rain and a couple of days of sunshine works like magic. I had almost given up on spring around here! Keep those old shoes handy. They will be used!
