A Little Update On An Eventful Week

Hello everyone. This is Ernestine's youngest daughter. She had emergency gallbladder surgery Wednesday afternoon. The surgeon said it was the worst he had ever seen. The really frightening part of the week was that late Monday the pain was going up into her chest and arm and when she called 911 they were convinced she had either had, or was having, a heart attack. Her surgery was also postponed after they had initially prepped her and wheeled her down to the OR. So...this week has been just a roller coaster for her, and not the fun kind.

She's at home now and the surgery was done laproscopically. I'm not sure she's up for getting on the computer event today, though.

I know she wanted to let her Internet friends know what was going on since she typically updates her blog frequently.

She'd love to hear from you here in the comments...your thoughts and prayers are appreciated!

Oh my goodness! I just thought you were busy with the new house. Nothing like a little health emergency to slow things down. We will miss you, but know that you will get back to blogging as soon as you can. It will be healing for you to do so. As I always remind myself, one day at a time.

Get Well Soon!

Things to do while you are recovering:
Memorize the alphabet backwards,
Learn the Morse Code,
Memorize the states and their capitals,
Take your watch apart...put it back together so it works,
Completely imagine your new house - every detail, where the furniture goes, how the sun looks coming through the windows at different times of the day, where your laptop will be located, etc.

I'm glad you had your daughter post.

My Hubby went through this procedure a couple of years ago. The best part is you will be able to eat after surgery, at least more than you did before surgery. Take care and rest up!

Ugh! I have heard that isn't a fun surgery to recover from (as opposed to others which I am sure are loads of fun).

Get well soon!

Dear Ernestine,
First, many thanks to your daughter for letting us know about your "eventful" week. Sending you love and wishes for a full recovery! I've had that surgery, too. You will feel so much better after a few weeks. Wow, life does have a way of stopping us in our tracks. I loved the suggestion above from the reader who suggested you picture your new house in the finest details while you recover!
The best and let us know how you are when you can.

Scary probably does not even come close to how you were feeling, but I am pleased for you that it was a good outcome.
Take care and we will miss you, but your health is very important and rest is one of the best medicines I know about - take several small doses every day!

How can I express in words how much all of you dear online friends mean to me. Your notes have deeply touched my heart.
I am healing physically but do not like this process one bit. This is something I would never have imagined happening to me. Am beginning to wonder how long this infection has been lingering in my body.
So I will be posting soon about this experience and My Continued Journey Through the 70's.
