An early morning call from my son
he is
postponing his trip for hopefully a short time.
His words shared that fine in his land but not in this land.
So, I accept his wisdom, cry and go on with my day.
After that call, another from dreaded dental office/
My appointment cancelled as the dentist of 25 years has the flu
and my loved nurse strep throat.
So life goes on.

Absolutely wonderful words! Sorry for your disappointment but it's surely for the best.
One day at a time at the moment dear Ernestine. Your son is acting very responsibly even though it’s a bitter disappointment. Stay warm and allow yourself some little treat to balance out the day. He’ll be with you eventually. xx
Anne and Charlotte, thank you for your words, Bless you
I “ditto” what Anne and Little Red Hen have written. Sending a big hug. ❤️🌷
Pienosole, thank you
I think maybe you should be grateful that people don’t want to pass any illnesses on to you? I am sure I am, in fact I suggest that we can get together some other time.
I love Wendell Berry and Peace of Wild Things is one of my all-time favourites.
Stay cosy and take pleasure in every day. I am not just saying that, I am trying to do it too. I am learning.
I can imagine your disappointment. I just heard the words transformational and consequential used to describe the current challenge. I believe both are true.
Take life one moment at a time and be at peace, my friend. I try to do the same.
thank you
Rebecca
Know this must be disappointing but trust you’ll be able to focus your thoughts on positives in your life presently. These are really uniquely challenging times we’ll all be glad to have behind us — the sooner, the better.
I am sorry that your son had to postpone his trip to the US and that you won't get to see him. I understand how sad and disappointed you are.
My son is in the Air Force and currently stationed in Japan. In May he is scheduled to be reassigned to be here in the US, and he was going to come home to visit before he started his new assignment. The way things are looking at this time with this Corona Virus, I have my doubts that he will even be coming back to the US in May.
I get to missing him so much. I am so thankful that we get to do Facetime with him sometimes.
Ernestine, sorry you are sad and disappointed but your son will come home as soon as it is safe for him to do so. For the moment, travel is a perilous business, and it is better for him not to do it - better for you too.
