Just Ordered

My hot water bottle filled with hot water is put at the end of my bed nightly
So comforting and stays warm all night.
Just ordered another one and will put at my back.
So much better then heating pads that I know many use,
they are drying to the skin and use electricity.

I wear flannel pj bottoms and like the ones with pockets
and just ordered some from Amazon, 100 % cotton
and so reasonably priced - like $8
I wear a long sleeve cotton top in larger size;

No longer the beautiful gowns or pj sets as in the past seem small size  pj bottom fits
but top way too small.

Last night they said a dusting
and this is what arrived
schools closed in this rural area.
About 2 inches of snow and ice.

The twice a week therapist who arrives weekly with an ultrasound machine
that is so helpful for pain for about 2 hours.

He told me that I will have to figure out a way to deal with all the pain which is so severe
at night.    Seems daytime bad, but I tolerate with distractions.   This one does not want to be drugged.

Young woman who helps 2 hours twice a week is taking me to doctor in the morning
and will be glad when I feel comfortable driving again - probably about 3 weeks.

Hopefully sodium level is normal as I have been taking sodium pills twice a day
Never thought of this happening and they still have no answer for me :)
Also a mouth rinse for the painful mouth from massive doses of antibiotics
was delivered last night in snowfall from my kind pharmacist..
In the past yogurt helped but not this time..

So this one continues onward....

I am glad you are coming up with solutions for your medical issues. Please take care and hopefully warm weather will be here soon.

The hot water bottles sound cozy. I remember them as a child...I do not own one. May have to add it to the stash of comfort items! I frequently get aches and pains, and have something that you put in the microwave oven...but it does not stay hot for long.

Sounds like you have several who are helping you. That is good. Not sure what the issue is with sodium, but my Mom takes the pills also. She has had several low scares. She also drinks bouillon each morning before her coffee. Seems to help her.

So glad you are on the mend.....

Thank you for sharing this part of your journey as you continue to make yourself as comfortable as possible while you heal. I'm making a wish that your pain decreases VERY SOON. Sending you continued love and hugs. :-)

Dear Ernestine ~ So glad the hot water bottle helps you at night. I use something called therma-pak. It has some kind of clay inside, and you can either nuke it or put it in the freezer. Bought 2 of these for DH when he was ill. They helped him with pain. They help me too.

I like hearing that you are always on the look out for alternative ways of healing.

Love, hugs & prayers for you ~ FlowerLady

I'm so sorry that your pain continues. I DO take 2 x-strength tylenol at night to help with knee/calf pain.....

I'd love to know what kind of hot water bottle you have that stays warm all night. I don't want to use an electric heating pad either, but didn't think a h.w.b. would stay warm all night.....

Continuing to send love and good energy your way. I have the same choice in sleepwear these days. That is a great price that you found on Amazon!

Rebecca, order my hot water bottle from Amazon (where I order most)
fill with hot tap water
and then pour out 75% and fill with hot water from my tea kettle.
Oh yes
they stay warm all night.
At first so hot and I wear socks
then in several hour, bottle a light cooler
and can use without socks.
In the early morning put the warm bottle to my back :)

My fellow bottle and socks woman!

Boy your regimen of visitors for your health is both heartening (you have the help) and disturbing (things still going wrong).

But you do sound positive and you are writing which is good.

I'm sorry to hear about your health challenges. It is so hard to depend on others to help, isn't it? Sometimes I feel as if I have the muscle memory of when I was stronger. If I could just concentrate, I think at such times, I could rise right up and go about my way as if I didn't have these issues from an autoimmune illness. I end up feeling as if I'm exaggerating my own weakness, since there's still that muscle memory! I, too, have problems with low serum sodium. It's due to one of my medications, this one an anti-convulsant for trigeminal neuralgia, but I suppose your doctors and you have already checked this medication-induced possibility? My neurologist has put me on a restricted liquid regimen, as she says that's more effective than adding dietary salt, but different doctors have different preferred methods of addressing these issues. I hope your doctors are as successful as figuring out what's happening and resolving these issues so that you feel stronger again.
