Rain Keeps Falling

Yesterday and today
 an all day rain,
late in day - finally heat.
As usual, frogs and spiders in the unit.
Wish I knew how to clean it would save me a lot...
Was wearing turtleneck, cardigan
and a sweat shirt.  Oh so nice to have heat.
Not that cold, 52 but with rain it chilled me to the bone.
Chili earlier today simmering with an addition of chopped carrots, celery and onion.
Did not really feel like cooking - but this simple with ingredients on hand.
Chopped cheese on top and for some reason kept wishing I had corn chips to go with this.
My only rose bush that has survived by the woods, decided to come back to life.

My corner over the last few rainy days....

Finally worked on the one closet and switched summer tops to top shelf and lower shelf now
holds sweaters and turtlenecks...

I really like your "corner"! Not sure I'd ever leave it if I sat down in that chair.

An all day rain can making staying inside very cozy! I needed my winter jacket for outdoor chores yesterday.. not that it was so cold but the winds were just fierce!

Dear Ernestine, Thank you so much for sharing your corner! I always enjoy seeing your photos and reading your journal! Hope you are having a good day!

Same weather here and i have failed to step outside for more than a few minutes. Gardeners arrive today to tear out my annual flower bed which will be fallow for the winter months. Ground is not soaked and rain has stopped and now trees have fallen. My gratitude list for today.

Ahhh, what a pleasant place to sit and watch the rain falling! I love it...comfy chair, beautiful rug, lamps, books, tv, computer....all in one lovely corner. You do have a talent for design.

Chili looks hot and delicious.
Roses are red......

Your offerings here are heartwarming.

Currently I am not blogging, but still like to check on everyone, once in awhile!

Tabor, :) Chip Butter, thank you. Sandy, so nice to hear from you, please do not disappear. Rebecca and Aisling, thank you.

Well sun is shining and heat unit went off again :( do not need at the moment
but upsets me when things go wrong....

Exactly the same as my recipe for chili that I just made but I did a huge pot, about 5 each containers for Daughter and me. I stew the beans from scratch, I find them much more flavourful.

Glad you got your heat fixed, I've had my fire going but it's warmed up again tonight.

PS your cornbread is good with chili too *grin*

Sure hope the heat unit can be fixed so that is is reliable. We, too, have had the same low temps with rain and wind. Today the house feels so cold. Warmth is coming back for a time, though, and I will welcome it as you have.

The chili looks amazing. I just made a plan to make some later this week. I like to serve it in half of a baked sweet potato, and corn bread (yours!) or chips make it so much better!
Thinking about you often, and always inspired by your words.

Cape Cod Kitty, so good to hear from you. Never heard of serving in a 1/2 sweet potato... Take care - warm weather has returned.
