Less Is Alright As Time Changes

In years past
really big tree
decorations and
flowers everywhere.
Wreath on the door
and outdoor lights.

A little less for the last
couple of years.
No help available
and much in storage room
not able to bring downstairs.

Was disappointed that I could
not take wreaths down from high
wall in garage.
I tried :(

But that's alright
as this little guy
sits by the side door
on the screen porch
where most visiting
make an entrance.

Less
does not seem to bother me
this year.
In fact seems kind of nice...

Made another Rum cake this morning
and 2 more cakes to be made
over the weekend...

I think I can smell the rum cake. Less is more for us this year, too. Your little snow fella is a good welcome at your door.

We are celebrating a simple Christmas too. Everything I plan is going to be "simply special" I'm taking more care with my holiday plans. Simple ones that we can handle. I guess we have to think that way in this last season of our lives.
Just had a cup of Christmas Eve tea with a splash of rum. Would love to share your cake.
Christmas hugs,
Balisha

I haven't done anything for years, some candles are lit for Solstice, I just stay quiet, visit some, get visited by, people are what make the season truly.

And I hang a strip of cards I receive.

I would love to be your neighbour Ernestine.

Some say that less is more. Perhaps we actually see less better than we see more.

We have been working on less for several years now, and are in the process of a major de-accession as we look for a new smaller house in the nearby walkable city. For holidays we go to the children on Thanksgiving and they do all the work, and have a quiet Christmas with a son, his wife and two friends. Smaller celebrations are just as big in pleasure and joy. Our motto has long been 'Perfect enough'.

I have had to decorate less over the last 25 years, as my homes have become smaller and smaller and...it's a good thing because I can't do big like I used to. It's okay though--I have my tree lights on all day now because, artificial tree isn't going to dry out. With a real tree and the bigger lights, we could only turn them on for a couple hours at night. It's all good!

Yes, same here. Just did not want to drag up that big tree from the basement. I still need to get a wreath on the door...although no one is coming to this house at all this year. When you do get some help have them pull down the Christmas decorations and put them in a couple of large plastic bins on the floor of the garage for you!

Pienosole, :) Tabor, think I will just pass on to girls and do the same thing next year. Seems 2 who would come and help occasionally - not available.
With severe arthur pain this is no priority :) Judy, :)
Commonweeder, Thanksgiving cooked all as it is the one thing I do enjoy - cooking. Just too difficult to drive to big city or have girls come and get me so will just continue on..

Thing outcome, change, and less of things, and troubles in general seem to matter less as I age.

Simplicity is so beautiful.

lovely snowman!
