Before I begin this sharing
I noticed yesterday reading my post about building and moving
the date was way way off :)
corrected it.
GARDENING A NEW WAY
I miss my garden plot of the past and must have a few fresh home grown items.
Because I am 1500 feet off a country road
with a corn field as my front view,
tucked among my shrubs in front are
a zucchini plant and yellow squash,
one of each planted as an experiment and they
provide this one all she needs for her plate.
The zucchini plant has provided 10 cartons in the freezer for bread
and maybe more to come:)
Yellow squash has not been a disappointment
A new area I am hoeing a little every morning to prepare for turnip greens and turnips which
will be planted next week. Just a few seeds, wait 2 weeks and plant more
and then in another 3 or 4 weeks the rest of the package. This is by my deck, sunny area part
of the day.
So far 4 plants moved to this area in the Spring are doing well.
Tomato plant, green onions, lettuce and herbs in pots did well.
Chives, dill, sage, mint continue to volunteer yearly.
Next Spring will experiment with a few more items.
Noticed today
a lot of butterfly's
it seems later for them
but then
nothing is like it use to be.

Brava!
Do you use the wee stool for weeding? Great idea.
Your zucchini is amazing :)

WAY TO GO!!! I no longer try to grow veggies--I just drive on up to The Farm and beg from my sister. :-)
I just grow flowers, but this year I planted a tomato plant in a container, and I am so excited. There's a book out, Gardening By The Square Foot, which might be informative for those of us with small spaces.
I don't have a bare space for anything. I mentioned to Joe about making a little raised bed for veggies, but after going through this summer, and finding myself having so much to do outside...I am tired ...and my containers of veg will have to do. I've had pretty good success with them. Herbs and lettuces in the ground, but tomatoes and peppers in pots.
Your garden plants look robust. I envy you your space for turnips. :)

Beautiful healthy plants.I did notice that date being not quite right...LOL. This week I was dating everything with 19991. Must have been thrown off by my retirement.
WWW, Judy, AC, Balisha and Marcia,
thank you for checking in.
WWW, hardly use the wee stool
but like the way it looks :)
Garden vegetables are actually quite attractive, I think. A mix of flowers and vegetables growing side by side make quite a duo. Your plants look so healthy, thanks to your green thumb, no doubt.
Love the glimpse of your garden. Just getting the first few small zucchini here. Only planted two plants because they provide so generously! As soon as they "get away from me", I will start grating the larger ones for the freezer (future zucchini bread)too. :)
Hope all is well with you.
Good morning Ernestine,
My house smells so good right now. I have 5 little loaves of your zucchini bread in the oven :)
Hope you are OK and just busy working in your garden.
Have a lovely day,
Balisha
I love seeing all the beautiful things you are growing!
Thinking of you today and hoping all is well.
I also am missing you and hoping things are good with you.
