I looked back to see what was going on about a year ago.
Seems much looks the same.
Thinking of all special friends during this holiday season.
Potato soup is simmering, going out to get the mail
on this cold and windy day.
there are times
I sit in this chair
looking out the window at my bird feeders
and sometimes I feel the warmth of the sun.
Thinking of all of my special online friends
on this day, you will never know how special you are to me
with your visits
and comments.
Some times I have the thought
"what would I do with out you,
my computer, camera and Miss Callie.
You have become a big part of my world
during these Winter Months.
Winter months bring time for reflection,
deep thoughts and needed rest.
But cannot deny that I miss being outdoors
doing all the things I love to do.
So happy that tomorrow the days will begin
to be a little longer each day.
Today a special brunch with special friends
and their must have been 10 decorated Christmas trees.
The food was tremendous with 16 attending
and I always pick up a new recipe
this time for
a fruit compote that I will duplicate for
visiting family on Christmas Eve.
This family so special to me and always include me like I was part of their family.
One of the reasons I returned to the woods.
The oldest Delphe came in from Florida yesterday.
Hip replacement 4 months ago and 89 years old.
Lorene is 86 and cares for bedridden husband of 90 - around the clock.
They are amazing.....
Then this one
in these last of the 70 years...
Wishing you an Early Merry Christmas
and soon to arrive
the best New Year ever.

who lives at the edge of the woods...

Love your angel amid the red winter blossoms. I have a very similar butcher block table in my kitchen! Wishing you a beautiful season.

Tabor, thank you, everyone has a health issue and yes they are dear...
I could sit for hours watching the birds. You have such a lovely place to sit and watch from...surely you planned it that way. I hope you have a wonderful holiday with family and friends. Merry Christmas!
Beautiful photos! Yeah - the winter solstice is very near now. I do like this time of year, but I wish there weren't a (probably) long winter ahead.
Wishing you a joyful Christmas!
Lovely angel photo! I love living on the edge of the Atlantic and also hosting gatherings of creaky and non-creaky old friends.
Thoughts of you in the woods and of precious moments such as you had.

I love the chop block--love it!!! I don't know what I would do without my blogging reader's either--most of the time, the only company I have for days and days.
Mary, Pienosole, WWW and Judy, thank you so much for visiting..
What beautiful, beautiful images of your world, Ernestine!
I always feel comforted reading about what's on your stove or fresh from your oven, the view through your window from your special chair, the friends you love who love you in return. Each day a blessing, I'm so grateful that even though I don't stop by often these days, when I do… I feel welcomed into your cottage and your life dear Ernestine.
Love that angel in the first picture. I know it must be special to you.
Laura, thank you for your special words. So busy and do not comment much anymore. You are special and loved and your encouraging words a comfort over the years.
Sallysmom, :)
