Time To Just Be

A balmy day on Sunday
showers on and off.
Peaceful

Birds are returning
Garden and woods look stripped and at Peace

Inside cottage
small touches of holiday colors
even in the pantry
and a small rug in front of the sink
Just enough for one matriarch

Neighbor delivered handmade
herbal soap she makes.  It smells wonderful.
This is something I wanted to do years ago.
Make soap.

Her visit brought back such past memories.
They surfaced all through the night
and made me smile....

Of my chickens and fresh eggs.
Orchard that provided jams and jellies.
Large garden
Collection of geese, ducks, peacocks and
an incubator that I hovered over like a mother
to see eggs hatch.
Baby calves that were bottle fed.
My youngest barefoot and wearing a sun bonnet

It was a time of healing 30 years ago.
I truly thought I could not make it
A time that was the end of much I had known
and now I received the blessing of a new beginning.

Ever thankful that
To this world I came
from a totally different world.

A favorite
Enya's "And Winter Came"
played softly
most of the day

All is well........

I can feel your "peace " in today's posting. I also am overwhelmed with the beauty of the lovely snowfall outside my Minnesota home this morning. Home and nature are nurturing to our souls. One of my favorite sayings is: The best things in life are not things.

Lorraine, thinking of you..
Nancy, Lynn and Mary, thank you for kind words. So little done this year - in the past the really big tree. But am pleased with things simpler...

Simple is always lovely. I always enjoy your words, and I'm especially glad today that you and Lorraine are friends. ♥♥

I love the pictures. It is so cold here now. I could tell a difference from when I picked grandkids up from school.

Happy your birds are back.

I wonder if you realize how much goodness you create and share.

Thank you, dear sweet friend.

What lovely pictures, and thoughts, Ernestine. I can practically smell the soap! I just this weekend bought two bars--almond and jasmine--from someone at an art booth in the park. There is something wonderful and luxurious about handmade, scented soap. I am thinking about you. I "stopped in" several days ago and read some of your posts but didn't comment. I didn't even have the energy to log in to wordpress, so that I could leave a comment! (That tells you something about how much I am still dragging, energy-wise.) This evening I had to do some searching to even log in to wordress as it's been so long since I've done so. I'll read some more of your posts now!
