I Wonder

My oldest granddaughter
who works in New York
has also started a blog.
I am now reading  both of my granddaughter's
and my daughter's who is an editor
and
I Wonder
why in the world
am I writing.
My life is so simple
and such a difference
then their worlds
But then
grandma is in her 70's
and granddaughter's in their 20's
and youngest daughter a mother
and career as an editor.
They sure have exciting lives.
But strange'
I think my life is exciting at this time
and really would not trade.
Now maybe 50 years ago
that would have been a different story.
One Woman was not living in the woods
at that time
and with her present interests.

Welcome my Jess to the blogging world
Proud of you, grandma...

One writes because one must. You might enjoy If You Want to Write: A Book about Art, Independence, and Spirit by Brenda Ueland. I believe it would speak to you.

Dear Elsa, you are so right. I have to write and it is good for my grandchildren to really know me.
It is a journey from one similar to children and grandchildren at a younger age and now at a different time in my life.
Wonder what they will be writing 50 years from now ??

Your children and grandchildren got the writing gene. It's wonderful that each of you has found a way to share what's going on in your lives. Those connections are priceless.

*My verification word is "shine."

Earnestine, I love your take on your world and your beautiful photos. Each of us has a different mind, so a different way of processing what we see and feel. Thank you for sharing yours.

You have the time in your life to see the important details and to think carefully about ideas and feelings...that is why you should write a blog.

I so wish I had more of my grandmother's words...however I do have some of her journals, which are precious to me. They give me just a hint of who she was. And this gives me hints of who I am.

I always enjoy dropping in to see what you're up to.
