Blue Porch Swing

Porch swings have always been a part of my personal
solitary life.
A lifestyle which started a little over 30 years ago.
Always comforting and bring back memories of a
little girl sitting on a swing with her grandmother.
The night sounds at her home I still remember
as we rocked away and she would brush my hair.
Have been contemplating  painting this swing
bright blue.
Last week it happened.
I like it.....

I love it!! Remember swinging with my Grandma--nice and cool on her porch. She'd often sing to me and put me right to sleep--just gently swinging together. Love the color!!

What a beautiful shade of blue! My swing needs a coat of paint, maybe I'll go with a splash of color too!

Beverly, quilt and pillows so old.
Flowers - you need to feed, water and make them feel loved :)
Amy, I painted rocking chair on small front porch the same shade of blue...

Worthy of Country Living Magazine, and then some....perfect choice of color and the quilt is so pretty against that blue.
Love the memories, too.
From a happier Cape Cod....hello!

Porches are one of the big differences between England and America. I think it is a lovely concept, we don't sit out at the front of our houses but privately in our back gardens, shielded as much as possible from our neighbours.

When I first visited USA over 40 years ago I loved the concept of the front porch, remember churning ice cream with my pen friend and her sisters.

Front gardens are for show, although nowadays many have been completely paved over for parking, very bad for the environment as the rain runs off into roads and floods.

Have discovered your blog today, will book mark it and return.

Thanks for the pleasure you give to many,

PixieMum - thank you so much for visiting.
I love my porch swing
But then I am out in the country
no neighbors to see me :)
Please visit again....

If you plough through my blog http://pixie-mum.blogspot.com/ you will see I live in English suburbia so properties are close together.

It's a London village, we can be in central London in just over half an hour and out in the country the other direction in the same time.

We have many parks, Kew Gardens, Richmond Parks, River Thames all nearby, a proper High Street and a railway station just five minutes away.
