I Needed This

At this stage of life - Some may think I am dull, but I am happy and at peace. That says a whole lot when I look at all the lifestyles I lived in the past.

I garden, read, meditate, do yoga, use my camera, babysit and clean the woods surrounding my new woods home.

The heat is keeping me inside after lunch - so two days ago I stopped in the budget movie rental shop in the neighboring small town.

I love Meryl Streep - any movie she is in - is wonderful.

So, I rented "It's Complicated".

I sat in my easy chair on loft area - where the television is - that I did not want - but bought for my youngest granddaughter's to watch films.

I sat there during the hot afternoon. Sat still which is really an accomplishment for me.

I laughed and laughed and thought if there was a neighbor that could see me - they would think I had lost my mind.

So --- this film is funny - I think it is best for a woman to watch alone or with some women friends (have none near that think like I do) - I do not think a man would find it all that funny.

I may join something online and rent a few films a month. Will be good for me during the winter months - when I am not reading!!

What is more wonderful than watching a film that tickles you. Maybe watching films with friends and sitting over a cup of tea or a glass of wine and talking the stories through. Great post.

No friends out here in the woods - wish there were!!

A prefect get-away day for a movie. The heat is so oppressive right now in the early afternoon. We were out on errands earlier today and my sympathy goes out to anyone who has to work outside.
A good chick flick is worth two action movies any day.

Cloudhands, some of my children keep recommending a watch some films. Usually do not have time.
With the heat, being inside and just plain tired - it was good for me.

LM and I watched that film recently and LOVED it. I was surprised he enjoyed it so much, but he is different that way.
We have Netflix and really enjoy it as a way to catch up on old films and as a way to research who a particular character may have been in a certain film. You'd like it and it is so easy. We now have a cable so we can watch films through Netflix directly on the computer or on the TV.
Today in all the awful heat we stayed quiet by watching "To Kill a Mockingbird."

If that is the Meryl Streep movie I remember?? Alec Baldwin in it? I laughed 'til I cried.

Then, I SAW HER GARDEN. Was it fabulous? I never salivate over things, but this sent me into outer space.
Loved it and hoped it was real and not pulled out the moment the movie ended.

I don't think your life sounds boring-it sounds full and peaceful. The most important thing is that YOU are content.

Celebrate!

Sharon, thank you for visiting.
Yes, that is the film.
Hope I can come across some more that make me laugh this much.
Have a great day. The heat is horrible here and hope I do not lose so many things that I transplanted to this new garden.
