Country Road Problem

Can you visualize One Woman winding down her country road. She looks in her rear view mirror and there is a police car not far behind her with his lights flashing. The thought comes to mind that she does not ever remember seeing a police car on this road.
She stops and rolls down her window and her heart is beating rapidly as the officer approaches her car. "What in the world have I done wrong she exclaims". The officer smiles and replies "one of your rear brake lights is not working". He continues on telling her he will not give her a citation but for her to have the problem taken care of before heading to the big city as she might get a ticket.
So guess this was a blessing the way this problem was discovered.
So she heads for the small town and has 2 new rear brake lights installed. She then continues on to her city cottage.

This would have frightened me to be stopped out on a country road if there were no other cars around. I am glad it was not anything other than what it turned out to be. Love the picture.

Judy it did make me uncomfortable.
First thought was because I had an out of county tag on my car that he might wonder about my being on that road. I told him I was the person who was building a home down the road.

Moving to the country one would think there were less police officers to cruise roads! Oh well, you have made an important friend.

Tabor I hope he makes that run often.

Oh, that would be frightening and make my heart race. It is nice to know there are observant police officers around though. I had the same thing happen recently, but the police officer just walked up to me as I parked in my spot at work. He had been following me for the one mile from my house, and the police station is right next to my office. He said the same thing...just get it fixed.

There is nothing more "heart-stopping" than seeing those flashing lights in your rear view mirror!

I'm glad that it was just a brake light...and, it is good to hear that you are out and about again!

Take care,
xoxo

Marcia and Grammie, thanks for your input. Yes, seeing those flashing lights just seems to make the heart beat rapidly.

Isn't it funny how we react to things? Our hearts race...even though we know we have done nothing wrong. Also how people automatically slow down when they see a police car...even when they are going under the speed limit. It is a bit frightening to be stopped on a country road...you never know these days. We hear so many scary stories. Glad you are OK.

Thanks Balisha. You described me perfectly. Have a great day.

Yes, those flashing lights nearly always mean trouble. Now, if only they meant someone just wants to chat! But seriously, in small places the cops like to know who's around, and a missing brake light is a good excuse to find out what a strange car is doing in the area. Now he knows and you're part of territory, he'll probably be looking out for you, in a good way!

we always feel like a bad kid when that happens
