Morning Baking

This one has not baked for almost a year and it was wonderful to bake banana bread early this morning.   This recipe is way over a hundred years old, shared with me by a well loved aunt
who would be over 100 if living.

To make it easier
all that was possible was put out last night,
After getting up at 5:30, doing my usual straightening in cottage and even before yoga and
breakfast this bread was made.
Yoga and just 15 to 30 minutes now and in the past 1 hour.
Made 1/2 gallon of sweet tea and then on to preparing breakfast.
2 small waffles covered with sweet cherries, blueberries, 1/2 banana and pot of hot green tea.

So then clean us time and seems so late at 10:00 as schedule not like it use to be with everything
done slower.

Beautiful weather continues, cool nights and pleasant days and rain is needed.

Yesterday evening as I look out the big window in front the deer are arriving.   I smile
at 1/2 dozen young ones and 2 mothers.   They stand and look at this cottage, would love
to take their image but if I move to pick up camera they seem to sense it and run.

Daughter in Spain arriving home end of week, her calls are missed but many pictures
shared on this computer.

Seems our youngest has healed from broken arm :)
Could not download image from her mom's instagram showing her climbing a
high wire fence :)

Plan in the morning of making blueberry cranberry bread, want to freeze some of what I
bake, so nice to have on hand.

Baking is such a satisfying occupation and I think you love it too! Nice to have something on hand in the freezer when friends or family drop by! I like the photo of your reflection in the header of your journal blog!

I hardly bake these days, but your post makes me wistful for that comforting activity. I don't even really need to eat the sweet results, but love the smell in the house as something yummy is baking! Thank you for a lovely post. So nice to get a glimpse of your daily routine. Mine is busy these days, with too much time spent out and about getting things done. Love the serenity of your posts.

Fall always makes me want to bake and I will have to get out the recipes and see what I have to make. I smile when you are discouraged that by 10:00 you have not finished. Your standards are pretty energetic so I would go easy on yourself. You still get a lot more done than many people.

No, we can't "grab" Instagram pics. -sigh-

By "grab" I mean, download them to our computer, to send or etc. Like we can do, with blogs. Actually, I like to post photos/pictures I love, so they are then "saved." Both for later, or for "grabbing" them and using them again. (Like taking photos, from one of my old blogs, to use again.)

Oh it would be delightful, to bake, at this time of year! But! I should not eat what I bake. "Oh bother" to quote Winnie the Pooh. -pout-

Oh well...

Hope the little one's break, heals well and quickly.
