On This Day

A foggy morning
The sun has never shined
feels so damp
and rain due tomorrow.

"Bless the notebook that I always carry in
my pocket.
And the pen.
Bless the words with which I try to say
what I see, think, or feel.
With gratitude for the grace of the earth.
The expected and this exception, both.
For all the hours I have been given to
be in this world."

I read this from Mary Oliver's new book
"Blue Horses"
and I wrote on the page under this
"Thank you"

Words to move the spirit.
I am glad you like Mary Oliver because it means we have this too in common.

Keep those old bones warm, the damp might get into them. I can feel the rheumatics too.

I love the "blessing".
I, too, carry a notebook in my purse. Just in case.

Looks chilly there. Hope your blogger problems sort themselves out. Glad you're counting your blessings.

What a nice blessing. I should carry a notebook with me too.

It is not chilly here but warm and I've been hearing thunder to the southeast of here. I wanted to mow today, but may not get to. God some laundry washed and hung out yesterday.

Hope you get blogger problems figured out.

We too have had gray, rainy days with lots of fog in between. I'm thankful it is warmer than usual, however. Your writing "Thank You" reminds me of the power of writing in healing, supporting and comforting us. Sending you many warm wishes this morning. :-)

The El Nino' effect that we here in the North are enjoying, is supposed to bring wet and cool winter to you in the South. I'm sorry--well, sorry for you, but not for us. :-)

Our snow has melted we are fogged too. I let the fire die down. I love Mary Oliver and this piece too.

Take it easy on yourself, be gentle as I would be.

I know, eh? We have some of our Christmas lights on a timer -- to come on at dusk. Yesterday, they came on early in the afternoon.
