For years I have thrown
Poppy seeds in the garden
and they do not come up.
This year I have 6 plants
that I have been guarding.
Early this morning I spotted
the first bloom.
Beautiful is the thought.
I smile
as I consider it a gift to me.....

I keep trying to grow forget me nots. No luck. You have inspired me to keep trying.
ReplyDeleteI love it when there are these kinds of gifts.
ReplyDeleteI have my first gardenia bud and it looks like it will open tomorrow. I can hardly wait to take in its' wonderful scent.
Have a lovely weekend ~ FlowerLady
What a nice surprise for you. It's a pretty bloom. Is it a double? I had the regular old orange poppies at my former house and wanted a pale pink one. Those orange ones multiplied like crazy, but the pink one just stayed a single plant.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your gift...just in time for Mother's Day.
Have a wonderful weekend.
